Stalking lead in 7 mm orange BioThane, with horn toggles

BioThane is a coated webbing – it does not soak through, and feels the same after a day of rain as it did in the morning. The collar slips over the dog's head, and you set its width with the knot. No metal is fitted, so the lead stays quiet when you carry it over your shoulder. The orange is chosen as a signal colour: you can see the dog in cover, and so can everyone else.

Does not soak through – after rain, snow or a wallow, simply wipe it down; the webbing keeps its grip.

Signal orange – far easier to pick out in tall cover and at dusk than a dark strap.

No metal parts – no snap hook rattling, no glint against the light.

Toggles of real horn – instead of metal, and easy to grip wearing gloves.

Made for stalking, and especially for wet weather: the dog walks on the short 60 cm attachment, the lead rests over your shoulder, both hands stay free. The shoulder strap comes in 160 cm and 200 cm, with one or two attachments.

How does BioThane differ from round leather?

BioThane is webbing with a synthetic coating, not leather. It draws in no moisture, needs no grease and changes very little over time. Round leather works with you instead: it softens and darkens. If wet ground is your concern, choose BioThane; if the feel of leather matters more, choose our round leather version.

Do I need 160 or 200 cm?

Hold a tape measure the way you intend to carry: across the chest most people end up at 160 cm, worn over shoulder and back rather at 200 cm. Winter clothing swallows ten centimetres in no time. If you are unsure, send us your measurement and how you carry – we will come back with a recommendation.

How far can the collar be adjusted?

You change the width by sliding the knot – one way tightens the collar, the other loosens it. It goes on over the head; there is nothing to open. Once set, the size stays until you change it again.

Does the round profile suit my dog?

The 7 mm profile is intended for animals up to roughly 40 kg: small breeds below 10 kg, the middle class between 10 and 25 kg, heavy dogs between 25 and 40 kg. Beyond that, please talk to us before ordering.

How do I clean the lead?

Wipe it clean with a damp cloth – that is all it needs. No leather grease: that belongs on leather and has no place on the coating. Rinse mud off under running water.

And if something does give way?

Repair on request. Every piece is made by hand here in Hamburg, so we know every seam. Photograph the spot and write to us – we will take care of it.
