Leather shoulder leash for one to three dogs, riveted

One leash, three dogs. The shoulder strap carries a lockable Italian snap hook that takes several detachable short leads – each dog can be unclipped and handed over individually without you taking off the main leash. This version is riveted: the leather is joined without stitching, the connections are held by rivets.

How do I handle several dogs with this?

You choose how many short leads you need in each length. They hang side by side from the snap hook on the shoulder strap; different lengths keep the dogs out of each other's way. To release one dog you unclip its short lead and the others stay attached. Once all dogs are off the leash, the short leads hang together on the strap and both your hands are free.

Which lengths should I choose?

The shoulder strap goes by your own height and by how low you want the leads to hang: 140 cm carries high and short, 180 cm gives more room. For the short leads: 60 cm for close handling beside your leg, 100 to 120 cm for loose walking. Handlers with three dogs often mix lengths so the animals walk in a staggered line.

What happens if the leather stretches?

Leather works: under daily pulling it gives a little over time. With natural leather that is normal, not a defect. What you can do about it depends on how the leash is made – on the models for several dogs the length is fixed by stitching or rivets and cannot be shortened afterwards; if something no longer fits or gets damaged, send us the leash and we will repair it in our workshop.

Riveted or hand-stitched – what is the difference?

Both versions are equally strong; they differ in how the leather is joined. This one is riveted: the connections are held by rivets and there is no seam that could come loose. Its hand-stitched sister is sewn by hand, which takes more work and shows visibly along the edge of the leash. The choice is a matter of look and price.

How do I care for the leash?

Work in leather grease two to three times a year, more often with heavy use. Brush off coarse dirt when dry, never machine wash and do not use detergents. Oiled leather is highly water-repellent but not waterproof: rain and wet grass do it no harm, and after prolonged exposure the leash should dry at room temperature – avoid radiators and direct sunlight.
