Collars for large dogs

Dog collars for large dogs should meet some requirements to give us owners a good and safe feeling.

On the one hand, it should not cut into the dog's neck, on the other hand, it must withstand the strength of a large dog. It must therefore be a stable and robust dog collar.

Your dog should feel comfortable with the collar, so wearing comfort is important. If a collar is too hard, with edges that are too sharp, your dog will try to get rid of it by constantly scratching it.

If a collar is too narrow for a large dog, it can cut in quickly and cause pain for your dog. The impairment of the dog's cervical spine due to a collar that is too narrow should be kept in mind when buying.

For large dog breeds, we recommend collars with a width of at least 3 cm - preferably more. Experience has shown that dogs such as Boxers, German Shepherds, German Wirehaired Dogs like to buy 4 cm wide leather collars from us.

The leather:

For our leather collars, we use approximately 4 mm thick fatty leather from cattle that comes from southern Germany, France and Belgium. The padding consists of a layer of neoprene sewn and glued to the upper leather and the lining leather. In this way, we achieve a high level of comfort for the dog. By protruding the soft lining leather on the sides of the collar, we avoid sharp edges that could disturb the dog.

The fittings can be selected. You can choose from robust chrome buckles & D-rings, as well as the particularly sturdy stainless steel and brass fittings.

We can customise the collar for your dog – by providing us with the details you want to be engraved. This option exists for all collars on which no other applications such as decorative stones etc. are incorporated. Here we recommend our dog tags made of leather or metal.
