The base model of this range: brown oiled leather without contrast stitching – plain and timeless. If you prefer leather and hardware without a coloured seam, this is the version to choose. Infinitely adjustable: across the shoulder, as a hand lead, or any length in between, with slider. Made from 4 mm combination-tanned oiled leather in Hamburg, Germany.

What it is made for
Designed for hunting, proven in everyday use. The infinitely variable adjustment is what sets it apart from an ordinary leash: short at the stand, long in open country, hands-free across the shoulder – all with the same leash, no refitting. Brown is the most versatile tone in the range and pairs with collars in brown or cognac.
How is the leather tanned?
We use combination-tanned oiled leather: the hide is mineral-tanned and then retanned with vegetable tannins. This combination brings together the strength, heat resistance and water resistance of mineral tanning with the fullness, firmness and colour depth of vegetable retanning. For a leash that has to withstand pulling, rain and sun every day, it is the more durable choice compared with purely vegetable-tanned leather, which swells faster when wet and can turn hard as it dries.
How thick is the leather?
4 mm – considerably more than industrial mass production, which is usually 2 to 2.5 mm. That is why the leash does not curl, does not cut into your hand and keeps its shape for years. Thicker leather needs a short breaking-in period and then becomes supple.
How do I care for the leash?
Work in leather grease two to three times a year, more often with heavy use. Brush off coarse dirt when dry. Never machine wash and do not use detergents. Oiled leather is highly water-repellent but not waterproof – after prolonged wet weather, let it dry at room temperature, never on a radiator.
Chromed, stainless steel or brass – which should I choose?
Brass offers the classic warm look, is traditionally popular among hunters and develops a patina over time. Stainless steel stays silver and is resistant to salt water. Chromed is the most affordable option with a silver finish. All three are equally strong.
With or without contrast stitching – what is the difference?
Visually: a cream or orange seam adds a clear accent, while this version stays calm and single-coloured. Technically: stitching holds the leather together and reduces stretching over the years to some extent. Both versions are fully load-bearing – it is a matter of taste.
